Man City are set to be without influential midfielder Rodri for the rest of the season after he suffered knee ligament damage in a 2-2 draw with Arsenal in September. Oscar Bobb will remain sidelined with a bone fracture he sustained during a training session in August. John Stones has missed Man City’s last five games since coming off at half time in last month’s 4-0 defeat to Spurs with a foot injury, and there is currently no timeframe on the defender’s return. Nathan Ake remains sustained with a hamstring injury alongside Manuel Akanji who was sent off against Nottingham Forest with an unspecified injury. Mateo Kovacic sustained an injury on international duty with Croatia last month while Phil Foden has now missed two matches for Man City due to bronchitis. Rico Lewis will serve a one-match suspension on Sunday after he was sent off with a second yellow card.
On the other hand Manchester United are enjoying a positive period with regards to injuries as they only have Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw sidelined due to injury. Lindelof was forced off in the 26 minute injured during Sweden’s 2-1 win over Slovakia in last month’s international break. After overcoming a muscle injury that forced him to miss the start of the season, Shaw has now suffered a hamstring problem.
